England Hammers Iran 6-2 In Group B Opener.
Harry Southgate boys thrashed Iran 6-2 in a mouth watering group B world cup opener .
The 19 year old Jude Bellingham opened the scoreboard with a brilliant header in the 35th minute to give England the much deserved lead just minutes after Harry Maguire header hit the crossbar.Eight minutes later, England doubled their lead when Maguire jumped highest from a corner to head down for Bukayo Saka to score a superb volley that left keeper with no chance at all.Sterling flicked a cross by captain Harry Kane to make it three just before halftime.Bukayo Saka score his second in the 62nd minute to make it four nill.Mehdi Taremi narrowed the gap for Iran three minutes later but Substitute Marcos Rashoford and Jack Grealish scored the fifth and sixth goal respectively before Taremi converted a late consolation penalty to end the match 6-2.
Senegal vs Netherlands
Cody Gakpo scored a late goal to give Netherlands a lucky lead against Senegal in the 84th following a misjudgement from the goalkeeper Edward mendy.It was Gakpo's fifth goal in 11 appearances for his country and substitute Davy Klaassen sealed the deal in stoppage time, following up after Mendy had pushed Memphis Depay's effort into his path.
Both teams were balanced in terms of ball possession and even opportunities created and it looked as if they were going to share the points until Edward Mendy horrific show begun to unleash.
The lions of Teranga will play Qatar on Friday on their second group A match while the Dutch will try to gain more points against Ecuador.

The United States were by far the better side right from the blast of the whistle and took the lead in the first half when Tim Weah fired his side in front in the 36th minute of action from a brilliant assist by christian pulisic.
After maintaining their lead into half time, the USA met a much better resilient Welsh side in the second half forcing them to concede a penalty after the Wales captain Gareth bale was brought down in the 18-yard box.
Bale then stepped up to the task to score his 41st goal for wales and gave them a point to kick start their world cup campaign.
The Wales who have missed the world cup for the last 64 years looks to impress in this edition of the tournament.
