England Held By USA In A Goaless Draw
Gareth Southgate men were forced to a draw in their second group B against USMNT.
The Americans displaed a much better performance compared to their 1-1 tournament opener against Wales .It was a debate of soccer vs football as the the three lions failed to break USA and had to settles for a point.
This draw moves England on top of the table with four points after gaining all the three points from their first game against Iran in a one sided a fair where they thrashed Iran 6-2.
USA are placed third with 2 points behind Iran who scored two late goals against Wales later in the night to give them their first win of the tournament and reviving their hopes in the group.
As things stand the group is still tight with one match to play.
USA will play Iran in a must win match for them to proceed to the round of 16.If Iran beat USA then they will automatically proceed to the next level.
England also requires a win against Wales to proceed, however a draw will also put them in a better place.
Other matches.
Senegal ended Qatar hopes of qualifying to the round of 16 of their first ever world cup by beating the host 3-1.
The debutants however displayed a much improved performance from their first match loss against Equador but the lions of Teranga were much better as they revived their hopes after losing 2-0 to Netherlands.
Senegal will play Equador in their last match while Qatar will play their last match against Netherlands in what will be more of a formalities to them after losing the first two matches and getting eliminated.
In other match, Netherlands drew 1-1 against Equador .
Valencia, 33, tapped in his third goal of the tournament from a rebound in the second half after Cody Gakpo had put the Dutch ahead in the sixth minute with a sizzling shot in a result that advanced both sides to four points.
