Ten Man Arsenal Beat Palace 1-0 In London Derby
Mikel Arteta's side were able to overcome the threat of Crystal palace in the London derby to take all the three points in a highly contested match at the Selhurst Park.
The gunners were down to ten men when Takehiro Tomiyasu was sent off for pulling Jordan Ayew's shirt with 29 minutes remaining. The Japanese international had gotten himself booked seven minutes earlier for time wastage and so the referee had no choice but to give him a second yellow leaving the north London side a man less to fight for their lead.
Arsenal took the lead in the 54th minute through Martin Odegaard's penalty conversion after Eddie Nketiah was brought down by the goal keeper .
The England international(Nketiah) missed a couple of chances himself in the first half in attempts that saw him hit the posts and even loop a one on one chance over the keepers head only to land at the roof of the goal. Perhaps on a lucky day he would have scored a brace or more.
However Mikel Arteta's men made it two wins from two in this new premier league campaign but they had to work extra hard for it.
Arsenal will host Fulham at the Emirates stadium on saturday while Roy Hodgson men will be visitors to Brentford on the same day.
