Nigeria dominate in 3-1 victory over Sudan.

 The super Eagles were unstoppable in their second game of their campaign for this years Afcon edition glory against Sudan.


Samuel Chukwueze scored in the 3rd minute; a calm finish after sterling creative play. Taiwo Awoniyi made it 2-0 in the dying minutes of the first half, then Moses Simon scored soon after the half time break.

Augustine Eguavoen men went 3 goals up and showed why they are one of the tournaments favorite to lift the trophy.


Sudan got a penalty because of shirt-pulling in the box and Walieldin Khidir converted it with aplomb.

But Sudanese goal was barely a consolation since Nigeria dominated the match.

Nigeria, who are seeking their fourth title on the continental stage, are now unbeaten in all but one of their last seven games in all competitions, claiming five wins and one draw in that time.

With their second straight win,Nigeria are on top of Group D ahead of second placed Egypt while Guinea Bissau and Sudan are at position three and fourth respectively.

Irregardless of the outcome of their last match against Guinea Bissau,the super Eagles are already qualified to the knockout stages.

Mohamed Salah scored the only goal against Guinea-Bissau to kick-start Egypt's Africa Cup of Nations campaign.


But the Pharaohs rode their luck as Mama Balde had a stunning late equaliser for the Djurtus ruled out after a video assistant referee review.

The seventh times champions suffered a one nill loss to Nigeria in their tournament opener but were very dominant against Guinea Bissau hitting the woodwork 3 times .

Liverpool forward Mo Salah forced the Egyptians fans to their feet in the 69th minute scoring a superb goal in Garoua.

With this win,the pharaohs only need one win and they will be in the knockout stage.

They play Sudan in their last match of group D.
