10 Man Nigeria Exit Afcon
The super Eagles of Nigeria were unceremoniously knocked out of the Afcon tournament by Tunisia by 1 goal to nill.
Nigeria were the tournaments favorite after being the only team at the tournament with all the 3 wins in 3 group matches.
Nigerians team not only dominated their group but also had the luxury of relaxing players for the round of 16 match since they have so many quality players.
Youssef Msakni only goal for Tunisia in the 47th minute was enough to win the game for them.
Alex Iwobi got a redcard shortly after being substituted in after VAR review of his challenge ended up to be red instead of yellow card.
In other round 16 match,
Burkina Faso beat 10-man Gabon on penalties to reach the quarter-finals at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon following a 1-1 draw.
Gabon had Sidney Obissa sent off midway through the second half but grabbed an injury-time equaliser when Bruno Ecuele Manga's header went in off Adama Guira.
Burkina Faso captain Bertrand Traore had missed a penalty before slotting in the opener in the 28th minute.
The Stallions will play Tunisia, in the last eight on Saturday, 29 January.
