Cameroon Beat BurkinaFaso In The Afcon Tournament Opener
The Indomitable Lions were triumphant against the Stallions of Burkinafaso with two come back goals at the Olembe stadium in Yaunde,Cameroon.
Cameroon,who are the hosts of this 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nation overcame an early scare in Yaounde to begin their campaign for a fifth Afcon title with a win.
Burkina Faso, who were without their coach Kamou Malo and six players who tested positive for COVID-19 in the build-up to the match, gave away two clumsy penalties after Gustavo Sangare had silenced the home crowd, estimated at around 45,000 fans at the newly-built Olembe Stadium, with the first goal of the game at the 24th minute.
Captain Vincent Aboubakar's brace within five minutes in the first-half helped Cameroon overturn a goal deficit and defeat Burkina Faso 2-1 in the opening match of the continental competition on Sunday.

Striker Julio Tavares headed home the winner as Cape Verde Islands shrugged off their COVID-19 woes to beat 10-man Ethiopia 1-0 on the opening day of the Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.
Cape Verde were forced to start the match without coach Bubista, in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19, and had just six substitutes on the bench, with a further nine players isolating, and two injured.
But Ethiopia made their task easier when defender Yared Bayeh was sent off after 10 minutes of play and becoming the first player to be sent off with a red card on this years edition of the tournament.
Cape Verde next meet Burkina Faso on Thursday, while Cameroon will face Ethiopia in their group A fixtures.
