But Jannick Buyla put Equatorial Guinea back on terms after the break - the first goal Senegal had conceded all tournament. It looked like being a nervy conclusion, but substitutes  Cheikhou Kouyate  and  Ismaila Sarr  restored the lead and put the result beyond doubt. It’s a semi-final clash against Burkina Faso up next for Senegal, who are looking for their first ever AFCON title. Mane started the quarter-final match, despite Liverpool contacting the player asking him to sit out after he was forced off in Senegal’s last game with apparent concussion. Image
The stallions of Burkinafaso beat all the odd and provideda surprising performance knocking out Tunisia. The Eagles of Carthage were unable to penetrate the defense of Burkinafaso who have proven to be consistent with knocking out Tunisia. Burkinafaso have now knocked out Tunisia three consecutive times at the Afcon quarter finals. They did it in 1998,2017 and this year. The Stallions surely have 99 problems but beating Tunisia is not one of them. Dango Quattara got the only match of the game just seconds before the half time but was shown a red card with ten minutes to the 90 minutes mark for fouls play. However Tunisia did not take  full advantage of the situation as they failed to get an equaliser and suffered a painful knockout. Ka rl Toko Ekambi scored a double as hosts Cameroon comfortably beat lowly-ranked Gambia 2-0 in Saturday's Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final  . The two goals came in a seven-minute burst in the second half as Cameroon finally converted their super...

The Indomitable Lions took the lead when captain Vincent Aboubakar drilled home his fifth goal of the tournament after 39 minutes. Cape Verde equalised eight minutes after the break as half-time substitute Garry Rodrigues stylishly flicked home. Aboubakar should have won it midway through the second half only to blaze over the bar with the goal gaping. Unbeaten in their capital since 1988, the result means Cameroon will remain in stronghold Yaounde for their last-16 tie against a third-placed side from Group C, D or E on Monday, 24 January. Cape Verde finished third in the group on four points, behind Burkina Faso in the table on head-to-head record, and the Blue Sharks face a wait to see if they will progress as one of four best third-placed sides.
