Manchester United Back To Winning Ways

Image
Manchester United were back to winning ways beating Totenham hotspurs 3-0. The red devils went to this game in north London with alot of tension having been humiliated by Liverpool at Old Trafford last week. Solskjaer had to find a way to stop the bleeding. Harry Maguire did not need to look at the defensive statistics tables, where United sit bottom, to know the defending has been abysmal so far this season.United conceded nine goals in their last two league games.  Switching formation, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set his stall out with a three-man central defence and a two-man strike partnership which Ronaldo was, of course, a part. The gameplan worked, with this arguably being United's most controlled performance of the season. The red devils boss breathed a sigh of relief with this win since he has been clinging on to his job after a series of dismal performance from his side . This was a much needed win to fight for his job. United took a one-goal lead into half-time thanks to ...

London Is Blue!

Chelsea were triumphant in the London derby once again against Totenham on Saturday. The blues comfortably beat Totenham 3-0 at the Totenham Hotspur stadium in an impressive display in the fifth matchday of the English premier League campaign. This win means that Chelsea are still unbeaten and are now placed first at the top of league table with Liverpool. All Chelsea goals came in the second half after an unfruitful 50/50 first half . Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel had to make some changes at the break for the betterment of the team,he brought in Ngolo Kante and changed the formation to 3-5-2. This change proved to be what they needed as Thiago Silva scored the first goal just after the break . Ngolo Kante scored the second goal following a lucky deflection from Totenham defenders. Antonio Rudiger scored the third goal at extra time giving Chelsea the 3,goals win and the well deserved 3 points. Tuchel’s HT change to bring Kanté on & switch to 3-5-2 won Chelsea the game. •Kanté ga...

Arsenal Back To Winning Ways

Image
Arsenal emerged victorious against Burnley at the Turf Moor stadium with a 1-0 win thanks to Martin Odegaaard's  goal. The Norwegian hit a sublime free-kick in the first half as Mikel Arteta’s side won their second match in a row. The midfielder curled in the shot midway through the first half as the Gunners won back-to-back games to move clear of the relegation zone. This win lifts some pressure of the shoulder of Arsenal coach after a poor start to the season losing the first three league opener. Arsenal however won their last match with the same margin thanks to Abumayeng giving them a back to back 1-0 win in the premier league. The poor performance from Arsenal resulted to alot of pressure and reactions from the fans demanding a win for Arsenal or the immediate sacking Arteta. Arsenal will be playing Totenham at the Emirates stadium on Sunday in their next league match. Other results Liverpool's African trio stars were all in the score board as Jürgen Klopp side hammered ...

Liverpool Triumphant Against Leeds As Elliot Suffers Horrendous Injury

Image
Jurgen Klopp men hammered Leeds united 3-0 in a comfortable league win at the Elland Road. Mohamed Salah,Fabinho and Sadio Mane all hit the back of the net to continue Liverpool's u nbeaten start to the Premier League season, and moves them level on points - and goal difference - with Manchester United and Chelsea at the top of the table. Even though the reds won the match, the celebrations at the final whistle were subdued, and understandably so following the horrific injury of Harvey Elliott in the second half. Liverpool youngster midfielder had to be stretchered from the field after suffering a serious ankle injury following a tackle from Pascal Struijk. The England youth international was brought down close to the hour mark at Elland Road and required extensive medical attention. Players from both sides waved on medical staff from the technical areas directly in front of the incident before Pawson had even brought play to a halt. Struijk was dismissed with a straight red card b...

The Legendary Number 7 Back With A Brace!

Image
Christiano Ronaldo made an impressive debut to Manchester United with two goals against Newcastle United in their 4-1 win at Old Trafford on Saturday. The Portuguese international left the club in 2009 to join Real Madrid after winning three premier league trophies with the red devil. He then went to Juventus before making his historic return to the premier league. The atmosphere ahead of kick-off felt more akin to a Ronaldo testimonial than a Premier League game. Thousands of people in CR7-branded shirts flocked to see the prodigal son return to Old Trafford. The prodigal son left at only the age of 18 and has returned at  36-year-old better and more experienced than ever . Ronaldo scored the first goal after Newcastle goalkeeper punched the ball on his runway giving  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side the much needed lead. SPURS HUMBLES CITY IN THEIR FIRST MATCH DAY CAMPAIGN

Image
The defending champions Manchester city lost 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in their opening game on Saturday evening. pep Guardiola side who won the league comfortably last season look short of a goalscoring threat on their day one of the title defence. City have lost back to back competitive matches coming to the Saturday game loosing to Chelsea in the Eufa champions League final and loosing to Leicester City in the community shield cup final. Last season, Guardiola's side claimed the title without a recognised striker depending mostly on their attacking midfielders, this season it might not be a walk in the park. Their most likely rivals - Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United - all won their league opener. Admittedly they had a much tougher start from Totenham than the other contenders, but they drew a big, fat blank and the reasons why were clear for all to see - the lack of a goalscorer. With the preamble to this standout fixture in the Premier League's opening ...

Manchester Hammers Leeds In The United League Opener

Image
Manchester United displayed an almost impressive one sided game against Leeds at the Old Trafford. The red devils hosted Leeds united in an early Saturday kick off, thrashing the visitors 5 goals to one. Bruno Fernandez scored a hatrick while Greenwood and Fred added salt to the wound to make it five. Paul pogba assisted four of them proving his quality to the United squad. Solskjaer said he had never heard Old Trafford as loud as it was for that Manchester derby, but he might have to revise that statement now. Manchester United fans were overwhelmed by their teams performance as they go to the top of the league table on match day one of the 2021/22 campaign. Other league matches Chelsea defeated crystal palace with 3 goals to nill in a match which saw Trevor Chalobah score his first Chelsea senior goal in his premier league debut. Trevor has been in Chelsea since he was a boy and now that he is a man it will be hard to leave him out of the squad. Elsewhere, Liverpool beat their host No...

NEW SEASON,SAME OLD ARSENAL

Image
Brentford made a clear statement with their return to the premier league after a 74-year absence with a memorable, magnificent victory over Arsenal at the Brentford community stadium on Friday league opener. Thomas Frank's men were vibrant, skilful and energetic proving that they didn't come to the top to participate but to win and win even at the expense of big teams like Arsenal. Sergi Canos broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute when he drove low past keeper Bernd Leno at the near post, although Arsenal complained bitterly that the ball had gone out of play in the build-up but the goal was allowed. Arsenal were toothless in their attacks not putting the expected pressure on the Brentford defence for an equaliser. Only Emile Smith Rowe truly rose above the dull Arsenal squad, forcing a save out of Brentford keeper David Raya. There was a slight improvement after the halftime with the introduction of Bukayo Saka causing problems, but just as it seemed like Arsenal could perhaps...

CHELSEA!! CHAMPIONS AGAIN!

Image
Chelsea kickstarted the season with victory against Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup final on Wednesday night,at the Windsor Park in Belfast. Blue was the colour at the northern ireland after Thomas Tuchel’s side picked up another piece of European silverware by beating La Liga opponents Villarreal 6-5 on penalties.  Hakim Ziyech's opener in the 27th minute was cancelled by Gerard Moreno's equaliser in the 90th minute pushing the game into extra time and eventually penalty shootout. Chelsea did a tactical substitution with goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga coming onto the pitch in the final stages of extra time to replace number one Edouard Mendy. The Spaniard justified  the decision by saving  a decisive penalty giving the blues the much needed win. This win means that the Chelsea boss,Thomas Tuchel is doing wonders with the blues after taking over as the manager in January. In this short time he has taken Chelsea to the FA final, won the Eufa champions league and the super cu...

The Same Old Arsenal!

Image
Mikel arteta side started the pre season friendly of the summer with  a loss in Easter Road on Tuesday. The squad which consisted mostly teenagers and young talents were unable to overcome the threat of Hibernia conceding a defeat of 2-1. However,Arteta made several changes at half-time, with Lacazette, Pepe, Partey, Smith Rowe and Folarin Balogun all coming on. This changes certainly led to a far better Arsenal performance after the break, with the visitors dominating the majority of the second half. Hibernia were the first to score in the 21 minutes rather than the visitors who looked more threatening.  Okonkwo’s unfortunate mistake was punished by Boyle's finish at an empty net after the Nigerian international missed a backpass. The 20 year old keeper who just signed a new contact with Arsenal begun his first pre season match with an error. Arsenal missed a couple of chances as Eddie Nketiah missed an open one in the first half and Reiss Nelson also failing to hit the targe...

CHELSEA, THE KINGS OF EUROPE!

Image
Thomas Tuchel men were glorious against Pep Guardiola side in the EUFA champions League final played in Estádio do Dragão in Porto. Chelsea displayed an impressive game against Manchester City beating the Premier League champions 1-0 thanks to Khai Harvertz finish after an assist from Mason Mount. This win means that Pep have failed to beat Chelsea since Thomas Tuchel take over, losing all the three matches. The Manchester City manager has been accused of repeatedly overthinking European matches in the 10 years since he last lifted the trophy with Barcelona. However, even after a brilliant run to this year's final, during which City saw off Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain, Guardiola couldn't resist one last tactical tweak. Or maybe,he wanted to prove his genius by trying something different in the final.Whatever the reason,Guardiola's decision to play without a defensive midfielder backfired in his face . This formation put city defensive line in jeopardy as Chelse...

Arsenal Triumphant In The North London Derby

Image
Arsenal are celebrating their first north London Derby win in nearly three years. The Gunners succefully vanquished the threat from Totenham to win 2-1 at the Emirates stadium. Jose Mourinho side were the first to score with a perfectly executed Rabona shot from Erick Lamella who came from the bench in the first half to replace Son having suffered an hamstring injury. However, Lamela was then sent off in the second half after goals from Martin Odegaard and Alexandre Lacazette had turned the game in Arsenal's favour as the hosts won 2-1. It was a well deserved win for arsenal who were very thorough and tactical for the most part of the match dominating Totenham in the Derby.  Aubamayeng benched Arsenal captain and talisman pierre emerick Aubamayeng was dropped from the starting XI by Mikel Arteta for breaching pre match protocols However Arteta, who had refused to expand before the game on what had prompted the decision, was quick to express his desire to set the matter to one side...

Image

Pep Guardiola's side were on a record run of 21 successive wins in all competitions heading into the Manchester derby. But the red devil's ruined City's 28-game unbeaten run in all competitions thanks to an early penalty from Bruno Fernandes  nd Luke Shaw's second-half strike. With just 34 seconds gone, Anthony Martial made a dangerous raid into the City penalty area and Gabriel Jesus responded with a needless, clumsy challenge that sent the French striker sprawling. The referee rewarded United with a penalty which was successfuly converted by Bruno Fernandes giving Ole Gunner men an early lead.  Manchester City tried every luck to equalise the goal but all their efforts were denied by both the United defenders and the keeper only to be caught off guard in the second half when  United left-back Shaw broke from deep inside his own half, played a one-tw...

Mount Shines As Chelsea Beat Liverpool

Image
Thomas Tuchel's side displayed an impressive game against the defending champions at Anfield on Wednesday night's Premier league encounter. Chelsea who were struggling with their former boss Frank Lampard are now unbeaten in their last ten games since the arrival of the ex PSG coach. Mason Mount's goal in the 42nd minute was enough to gain all the three points for the blues as they comfortably overcomed all the efforts from Jurgen Klopps side. Mount who had been called a teachers pet under his previous boss has thrived under the new coach and his currently the clubs top scorer since Tuchel took over. Chelsea could have won the match with a much bigger margin if only Timo werner would have been clinical with his finishing.  Despite being harshly denied a goal by VAR in the first half, he will be disappointed for not scoring at least a goal with the various chances he had. This lack of ruthlessness from the blues side almost cost them in the last minute of the game when Liver...
