Arsenal Triumphant In The North London Derby
Arsenal are celebrating their first north London Derby win in nearly three years. The Gunners succefully vanquished the threat from Totenham to win 2-1 at the Emirates stadium.
Jose Mourinho side were the first to score with a perfectly executed Rabona shot from Erick Lamella who came from the bench in the first half to replace Son having suffered an hamstring injury.
However, Lamela was then sent off in the second half after goals from Martin Odegaard and Alexandre Lacazette had turned the game in Arsenal's favour as the hosts won 2-1.
It was a well deserved win for arsenal who were very thorough and tactical for the most part of the match dominating Totenham in the Derby.
Aubamayeng benched
Arsenal captain and talisman pierre emerick Aubamayeng was dropped from the starting XI by Mikel Arteta for breaching pre match protocols
However Arteta, who had refused to expand before the game on what had prompted the decision, was quick to express his desire to set the matter to one side after the game.
"Now we move on," he said when asked if Aubameyang's actions could have any long-term ramifications. "We know how important Auba is for us and he's going to continue to be important.
Other premier league results
Craig Dawson own goal in the 53rd minute gave Manchester United the well needed win in their campaign to finish second in the English Premier league.
The own goal followed a good corner from Bruno Fernandes forcing the Westham defender to head in the back of his own net.
Westham looked firm in the match which was hosted by the red devil's at the old Trafford. However only one mistake denied them a point from Ole gunner solsjier side.
Leicester City thrashed Sherfield United 5-0, Southampton lost at home 2-1 to Brighton while Man City hammered Fulham 3-0.
Burnley won 2-1 against Everton, Crystal Palace defeated westbrom with a goal to nothing while Chelsea drew nill nill with Leeds united on Saturday.
