Messi Leads Argentina To Victory As They Win The 2022 Fifa World Cup.

Argentina have won the FIFA World Cup trophy in a spectacular game of football that saw them expertly beat France 4-2 on penalties after drawing 3-3 in normal minutes plus extra time.


Argentina closed the gap between them and Brazil on most win of the world cup as they gained their third world cup trophy.Brazil has won it 5times.

Lionel Messi finally achieved his dream of winning the  trophy that has eluded him so much in his career.The Argentina captain scored twice for la Albiceleste in the Mouth watering exciting game that saw France come back from 2 goals down to push the match into extra time.


Messi then calmly converted his penalty to help win the trophy and was awarded the golden ball for being the player of the tournament.

The 35-year-old was pipped to the Golden Boot by PSG team-mate Kylian Mbappe but takes home the World Cup trophy and the Golden Ball for being the best player. Argentina's Enzo Fernandez won Young Player of the Tournament, while La Albiceleste's No.1 goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez scooped the Golden Glove award.

When asked if he will retire,the PSG star said, "No, I'm not going to retiring from the Argentina national team," he told TyC Sports. "I want to continue playing as a champion."


"It's crazy that it happened this way. I wanted it very much," he told reporters. "I knew that God was going to give it to me, I had a feeling that it was going to be this way. Now to enjoy. Look at this cup, it's beautiful. We suffered a lot but we made it. We can't wait to be in Argentina and to see how crazy it's going to be. This was the trophy I have wanted all of my life. This was my dream since childhood."

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni, who guided the team through highs and lows at Qatar 2022, was emotional after the match and struggled to hold back tears as his players embraced him.


Messi is due to return to club side Paris Saint-Germain after the tournament, with the Ligue 1 champions set to resume their campaign against Strasbourg on December 28 but he will not hang is boot for now and his country men will be able to see him for a little while longer.
