Manchester City Makes A Statement Against The Newly Crowned Champions

Manchester city made a statement in their premier league encounter with the newly crowned champions - Liverpool.
City who were playing at home thrashed the reds 4-0 in a one sided contest at the Etihad.
The match began by a  guard of honor from manchester city players as they showed respect and sportmanship to Liverpool who were declared champions last week after City lost to Chelsea.
Liverpool played a good game in the first 20 mins of the match with various attempts at goal including salah's shot at the goal post.
But almost immediately after Joe Gomez tangled clumsily with Sterling to concede the penalty, the balance of play emphatically shifted City’s way.
Kevin De Bruyne scored the first goal for city from the spot in the 25th minute.
Sterling would get the better of Gomez again for the second, at which point Klopp presumably decided that his centre-half would be replaced at half time. Foden’s dribbling, combined with De Bruyne’s off-the-ball running, stretched Liverpool’s defence enough for Sterling to take up possession inside the area with enough time to step away from Gomez’s limp challenge then tuck the ball through his legs and into the bottom left-hand corner.
Liverpool were trailing from 2-0 in the 35th minute.
Phill foden added silt to injury when he scored the third goal in the 45th minute after a superb assist from the belgian international De Bruyne.
It was a sublime goal and evidence that Foden is ready to be trusted against even the very best of opponents.
Jurgen Klopp's side were three goals at the break.
Things moved from bad to worse when Alex Oxlade Chamberlain scored in his own net after accidentally connecting Sterling attempt at goal in the second half.
Manchester cityC were now four goals to nill against the champions and it almist came to five but Mahrez goal was disallowed for a handball to the goals build up.
Although this results doesnt affect the end as far as this competition is concerned City, though, will take both solace from beating the best team in the country in such an authoritative manner, and belief that they have struck the first blow in next season’s race.
