The Return!
The long awaited resumption of the premier league is over.After 100-day absence because of the pandemic,the league returned on wednesday night with a clash between Manchester city and Arsenal at the Etihad stadium.
Aston Villa also hosted Sherffield united in another league match at the villa's park.
The matches were played behind closed doors as one of the measures to prevent infection from the Corona virus and all other fixtures will apply same.
A minute silence was observed before the kick off remember those who have died with the corona virus.
''Black Lives matter!''
Following the death of George Floyd in the United States,which was based on racial discrimination the EPL joins in the fight against Racism ;For the first 12 matches of the restarted campaign all players names on the back of shirts will be replaced by "black lives matter".
Refereing officials and coaching members of staff involved in wednesday games also took a knee to support the movement.

Manchester city secured a well deserved three points at the Etihad stadium against Arsenal.The actions which marked the return of Mikel Arteta to Etihad since December when he left as Pep Guardiola asistant to manage Arsenal.The return was however not fruitful as his team struggled with ten men against Pep's finest.
Arsenal lost Granit Xhaka and Pablo Mari to injury,prompting the manager to bring in Dani Ceballoa and David Luiz,who contributed to Citys win.
The Brazilian International first mistake was to miss the ball while attempting to cut out a Kevin De Bruyne pass,leaving Rahim Starling to score an opener in the 45th minute.
Luiz then clumsly challenged Riyad Mahrez in the 49th minute resulting into a penalty which was easily converted by Kevin De bruyne to double the score.
Phil Foden came in as a subtitue and scored the third goal only 11 minutes to the stoppage time sealing it for pep's side.
This win means that Liverpool will have to wait a little longer in order to win the league even if they beat everton on sunday.
