Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Man United Through To The FA Cup Semi Finals

The emirates FA cup campaign continued over the weekend with various matches. Manchester united won against Norwich citt with 2-1 in a match that went to extra time after the deadlock couldn't be broken. Harry Maguire scored a late extra time goal in the 118th minute to book. A spot for manchester at the semi finals. This is after the match drew 1-1 in regular time. Chelsea won 1-0 against Leicester City to grab the ticket for the semis. Ross Barkley's goal in the 63rd minute broke the deadlock at the King power stadium giving chelsea the much deserved win. Frank Lampard side made three half time changes that turned the match around following an underperformance from the young midfielders who started the game. Harry Maguire Scores Late As Man United Knocks Norwich From FA

Manchester United are through to the FA cup semi finals. This is after beating Norwich City 2-1 in the cup quarter finals. The match started rather on the low with no shots on target for both teams in the first half. Odion Ighalo fired the first shot at goal in the 51 minute which landed at the back of the net breaking the deadlock. Solskjaer side had the lead for only 24 minutes before Todd Cantwell scored a superb equalizer from a long range making it 1-1. Norwich played a good game after the equaliser as they looked favorite to score the winner. However things fell apart for them at the 89th minute after Timon Klose was shown a red card for pulling back Ighalo. 10 men Norwich were forced to play the extra time with a disadvantage since the deadlock couldn't be broken in the regular time. The 30 year old wait for Liverpool was finally over. Klopp's side won the league last in 1990 and its been a long wait but the crown is finally theirs. Liverpool won against crystal palace on Wednesday night hence they needed only two points to be champions. All the players, fans and all the staffs at Liverpool had their eyes at stamford bridge in last night clash between second placed Manchester City and Chelsea. A loss for city will surely give Liverpool the trophy with seven games to spare. It was a must win for Manchester city if they intended to keep the title race going, atleast mathematically speaking. Chelsea on the other hand are in the race for the champion league spot and were not willing to lose points as this would reduce their chances. Liverpool hammers Crystal Palace 4-0

The wait is almost over.  Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier league with 23 points after beating Crystal palace 4-0 at Anfiled. The 30 year long wait is almost over as Klopp's men only needs two more points to be crowned champions in the 2019-2020 premier league campaign. Liverpool who played their second match on Wednesday after returning from the corona virus break looked very sharp as they gathered all the three points at their home ground. Liverpool maintained their 100% league record at anfield this season with only 7 league games remaining. Trent Alexander-Arnold broke the deadlock in the 23rd to give ths host the lead before the returning Mo Salah made it a double only a minute to the halftime whistle. The Goals Manchester city were back in action on monday night with a glorious win against Burnley at the Etihad stadium Phil Foden displayed an impressive game as he broke the deadlock with an pener in the 22nd  minute to give machester city the lead. Reyid Mahrez made it double in the 43rd minute before adding another goal from the spot after City were awarded a penalty following a bad challenge in the stoppage minutes of the first half. Pep's side were three goals at the break. David Silva added another goal in the 51 minute making it four for City. Foden sealed the game with the fifth goal in the 63rd minute proving to Guardiola why he should be a regular start. CHELSEA COME BACK TO BEAT STRUGGLING ASTON VILLA.

Chelsea were in action for the first time since the  Premier League  season restarted. The blues were hosted by struggling Aston Villa at the Villa's park in an entertaining match.  Frank lampard's side showed a very good football having upto 90% of ball possession. However Aston Villa were the first to score in the first half with a shot from Kourtney Hause after poor defending from the blues. Substitute Christian Pulisic came of the bench and levelled the match in the second half before Oliver Giroud's winner after his shot was deflected at the back of the net. This win increases Chelsea's hope of securing a spot for the champion league. Chelsea are currently in 4th position with 51 points after playing 30 games. Aston Villa are in 19th position with only 26points after playing 30 game and are at risk of being relegated with only 8 matches to the end of the league. Leno Joins Injury As Arsenal Lose To Brighton!

Arsenal are yet to win a match since the resumption of  league after 100 day break due to the corona virus pandemic. The Gunners lost 2-1 at home against Brighton, on Saturday encounter which followed only 3days after their defeat against Manchester city at the Etihad stadium on Wednesday.  Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno got injured in the game after a needless poor challenge from Brighton's Neal Maupay's forcing him to be carried off pitch in pain. The forward then added insult to injury when he went on to score the winning goal for Brighton in the stoppage time. Arsenal were the first to score in the 68th minute with Nicolas pepe shoting at the back of the net. However Brighton responded with an equalizer seven minutes from lewis Dunk putting the game 1-1. The long awaited resumption of the premier league is over.After 100-day absence because of the pandemic,the league returned on wednesday night with a clash between Manchester city and Arsenal at the Etihad stadium. Aston Villa also hosted Sherffield united in another league match at the villa's park. The matches were played behind closed doors as one of the measures to prevent infection from the Corona virus and all other fixtures will apply same. A minute silence was observed before the kick off remember those who have died with the corona virus. ''Black Lives matter!''
